1The Critical Need for Travel Insurance

International travel carries inherent risks. Holidaynest advises every passenger to purchase comprehensive travel insurance upon booking. Your chosen insurance policy should include:

  • Medical Cover: Reimbursement of emergency clinical treatment, hospital stays, and repatriation transport back to your home country.
  • Cancellation Coverage: Protection against booking cancellation costs due to unforeseen sickness, injury, or family emergencies.
  • Luggage & Documents: Theft or damage recovery for baggage, personal property, and travel documents.
  • Personal Liability: Coverage for legal costs arising from accidental injury or damage to third parties.

If you choose to travel without insurance coverage, you assume all financial liability for any losses, medical fees, or cancellation expenses.

2Health Regulations & Immunization Checkups

Destination entry requirements are subject to change. Passengers must:

  • Consult a GP: Schedule a consultation with your doctor or travel clinic at least 8 weeks prior to departure to review recommended immunizations (such as Yellow Fever or Malaria protection).
  • Follow FCDO Travel Alerts: Monitor the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) announcements for the latest travel and safety directives.
  • Carry Prescription Documentation: If traveling with medication, ensure you carry a GP letter and verify that the substances are permitted under the laws of the destination country.

3GHIC & EHIC Cover (European Travel)

If you are traveling from the UK to European Union countries, we recommend carrying a valid **Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC)** or European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).

This card facilitates access to state-funded emergency treatment in member countries. However, **the GHIC is not a substitute for travel insurance**. It does not cover private medical services, search-and-rescue costs, or medical flight evacuation.

4Pre-Existing Conditions & Pregnancy Guidelines

You are required to disclose any pre-existing health conditions to your airline carrier and travel insurance provider.

  • Pregnancy Flying Limits: Most airlines refuse carriage for travelers who are past the 28th to 36th week of pregnancy. You must present a medical clearance certificate to board.
  • Boarding Refusal: If a carrier denies boarding based on health criteria, Holidaynest is not responsible for ticket or accommodation costs.

5Medical Force Majeure Events

Holidaynest is not liable for travel cancellations, delays, or cost increases resulting from Force Majeure events.

This includes pandemics, epidemics, emergency health quarantines, border closures, weather anomalies, or political disruptions. In these cases, your travel insurance policy serves as your primary recourse.
